Generation HONA: Investing in the next generation of nail techs!
At HONA, our mission goes beyond creating premium hypoallergenic nail products. We strive to educate, inspire, and uplift the modern-day nail technician, empowering the nail community with a strong foundation of integrity, transparency, and unmatched service. As part of this mission, we’ve begun an exciting initiative to invest in the next generation of nail techs by partnering with local colleges to provide education and insights into hypoallergenic nail systems.
Investing in Future Talent: A Day at Coleg Gwent
Recently, our co-founder Charlotte visited Coleg Gwent College, a local Institution for hair and beauty training. Charlotte’s goal? To introduce the next generation of beauty professionals to the importance of using hypoallergenic nail systems, an essential step in future-proofing their careers in the nail industry.
During the day event, Charlotte shared her vast knowledge of nail enhancements and allergies, breaking down complex topics such as the rise of allergens like HEMA and how techs can protect both themselves and their clients by choosing safer alternatives. Through her engaging session, Charlotte aimed to inspire these budding nail techs, giving them the tools they need to succeed in a fast-evolving industry.
Mastering Nail Art and PureFoundation Techniques
The highlight of the day was a hands-on masterclass in two of HONA’s flagship systems: PureFoundation and nail art. Students had the opportunity to not only learn the theory behind these hypoallergenic products but also gain practical experience in their application. Charlotte guided them through every step, emphasising the importance of proper nail preparation and showcasing how HONA’s PureFoundation is perfect for creating long-lasting, beautiful nail enhancements—without compromising on client safety.
In addition to PureFoundation, the masterclass touched on artistic techniques for creating unique, custom nail art, ensuring that these future professionals were inspired to blend creativity with safety.
Why Hypoallergenic Systems Matter
At HONA, we believe in providing solutions that not only deliver on exceptional performance but also address the growing concern of allergies within the beauty industry. Many clients and technicians are increasingly discovering sensitivities to common ingredients like HEMA, highlighting the need for safer alternatives in nail products. That's why all of HONA’s products are formulated without HEMA, HPMA, IBOA, and TPO—ingredients often linked to allergic reactions.
Our hypoallergenic system allows nail techs to offer premium services without compromising on safety, both for themselves and their clients. By educating students early in their careers, we aim to equip them with the knowledge and tools to future-proof their practices, ensuring long-term success while prioritising health and well-being.
HONA's System
Beyond being hypoallergenic, HONA is deeply committed to ethical beauty. Our entire product range is proudly vegan and cruelty-free, embodying our dedication to creating safer, more responsible choices for both nail techs and their clients.
We’ve carefully crafted a diverse lineup of products to suit every need, from our versatile builders like PureBuild and PureFoundation, to our bold, long-lasting gel polishes in 120 shades, and SwiftTips, our game-changing soft gel extensions. For nail techs seeking even more strength and flexibility, we’ve recently introduced TrueSculpt, a hard gel that delivers structure without compromising on ease of use.
With HONA, the next generation of nail techs can confidently offer premium services that prioritising safety, performance, and ethical values.
Empowering Through Education
HONA’s educational outreach is just beginning, and we’re excited to continue our visits to more local colleges, spreading awareness about hypoallergenic nail systems and offering our expertise to the next generation of nail professionals. It’s part of our commitment to helping nail techs at all stages of their careers thrive in an industry that’s constantly evolving.
